Gifts
Gifts especially for kids should carry an element of surprise. A small kid usually does not know when it is going to receive gifts. As and when it grows, it gradually starts understanding the situation and possible occasion on which it is most probably going to receive the gifts. Usually it depends on the person who gives the gifts, to think about the utility of the gift when in the hands of the child. A gift for a child varies according to the occasion, age, sex and its requirements.
A newly born child is gifted with clothes, baby soap, baby-powder. Sometimes people put money under the sleeping cushion of the baby. Big companies manufacturing baby products come out with a gift hamper which includes all the necessary items for the child.
As the child grows the gifts also change. No doubt the clothes are a standard gift for kids of all age but one has to be aware of the height and weight of the kid to whom the gift is to be presented. If there is a slight difference it can cause inconvenience and be uncomfortable for the kid.
Toys are another segment of gift usually given to the kids. Nowadays there is a tag mentioning about the age group that usually likes to receive these sort of gifts. Toys are again of two types. One is just for fun and the other is for education. Some types of toys serve both purposes of fun and education. The toys are not only for play but for activity too. When a toy is gifted to the child, that also without any indication about it, the child feels very much loved and cared for. The glee on the child’s face is one of the most beautiful and cute things one could expect.
Small kids could be even gifted musical instruments especially designed to be handled by small kids. This could nurture the art of music in the child and develop love for it.
Eatables form a big crunch of the total gifts that are given to children. Most of the children like the gifts to be chocolates and pastries. Hardly would any child decline an ice cream treat.
Kids going to school would love getting pens, pencils, and other stationary items as gifts.
Gifts depend upon the sex of the child as well. A male child would prefer something different from the females child. The female child would usually prefer and love to be gifted with a Barbie doll.
Nowadays computer games, video games, robotic toys, toys powered with battery are the major gifts for children.
