Need Of Children’s Games

Childhood games are that part of life that can never be forgotten. Everyone likes to recollect them and enjoy the cherished memories of yester years. The games are remembered but hardly does anyone reflect upon the physical and mental exercise that one undergoes while playing these games. Some games improve the memory while most of them are just for fun. Some games are indoor while others are outdoor. Different games have different benefits. Some of the advantages of the children’s games are as mentioned below:
- Hopscotch : This game is good for strength and balance. All the muscles of the leg are activated by this game. The activity of balancing on one leg and at the same time bending down to pick up the stone improves the act of balancing. Hopping on one leg improves mobility. One full course of hopscotch burns about 5.9 calories / minute. A child playing this game for half an hour burns nearly 175calories.
- Flying kite: Flying kite activates the upper half of the body, especially the shoulder - scapular region. This activity improves the scapular activity. - Seesaw : This activity is builds up on the muscles such as the hamstrings, quads, calves. This activity requires that the child pushes itself up and balance itself while coming down. This activity requires two children of nearly equal weight.
